Natural implementation in public goods economies

چکیده

In this paper, we examine what kinds of social choice correspondences (SCCs) are implementable in Nash equilibria by “natural” mechanisms in divisible pure public goods economies. Then, we found conditions for SCCs to be Nash implementable by each of these four natural mechanisms. These characterizations of SCCs depend on the number of goods. First, regardless of the number of goods, the class of Pareto efficient SCCs implemented by PQ mechanisms is equivalent to that of Pareto efficient SCCs implemented by PQ mechanisms. Second, in the case where there exists only one public good, Q, IPQ, PQ and PQ mechanisms implement the Lindahl correspondence for any number of private goods. But, the Pareto correspondence is not implemented by Q, IPQ, PQ or PQ mechanisms, regardless of the number of goods. Journal of Economic Literature Classification Numbers: C72, D78, H41.

In this research, the effect of religiosity on participation in the production of public goods and preservation of natural resources has been investigated. Extraction of participation data and conservation of natural resource has been done through the implementation of online laboratory of public goods and natural resource games. To extract the three dimensions of religiosity (belief, rituals a...

The Unique Informational Efficiency of the Lindahl Allocation Process in Economies with Public Goods∗

This paper investigates the informational requirements of resource allocation processes in public goods economies with any number of firms and commodities. We show that the Lindahl mechanism is informationally efficient in the sense that it uses the smallest message space among smooth resource allocation processes that are informationally decentralized and realize Pareto optimal allocations ove...

Double implementation in economies with production technologies unknown to the designer

This paper considers double implementation of Walrasian allocations and Lindahl allocations in Nash and strong Nash equilibria for both private and public goods economies when preferences, initial endowments, production technologies, and coalition patterns are all unknown to the designer. It will be noted that the mechanisms presented here are feasible and continuous. In addition, unlike most m...

Relative price shifts , economies of scale and poverty during economic transition 1

Economic transition is associated with significant shifts in relative prices between private and public goods. If, as a result, public goods claim a larger share of total expenditures, economies of scale in consumption increase. We show how relative price changes might alter the welfare of different-sized households in the short run and over time. We illustrate, for a selection of transition ec...
